Facts & verified results
Every number on this page comes from a Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4 export on a property we own and operate. Nothing here is estimated, projected or rounded up. If a figure can’t be produced from an export, it isn’t on this page.
What Foundwork is
- Foundwork builds digital systems for growing small businesses: websites, search visibility, and custom tools.
- It is run by one person — Jamie, an Ontario business operator — not an agency or a reseller.
- Jamie owns and operates six businesses that depend on being found in search. Those businesses are the proof, in place of client logos.
- Based in Ontario, Canada. Primary service area: Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford and Paris, Ontario. Remote clients accepted.
- Sites are hand-built static HTML deployed to a global CDN. Not WordPress, not a page builder.
Pricing
- Foundation build — $1,250 CAD. A focused, properly structured web presence for a small operation.
- Growth build — $2,750 CAD. Search architecture and conversion design across multiple services and locations.
- Market Leader build — $4,500 CAD. Full per-service by per-city architecture for competitive markets.
- Care plans — $29 to $125 CAD per month. Hosting, security, backups, updates, fixes. Every build includes one.
- SEO and GEO retainers — $200 to $450 CAD per month. No lock-in contract.
- Google Ads Autopsy — $495 CAD one-time. Local Services Ads setup — $495 CAD one-time.
- All builds are fixed scope, quoted in full before work starts.
Guarantees
- Indexation guarantee: every build is crawled, indexed and appearing in Google within 30 days of launch, or the care plan is free until it is.
- No ranking guarantee. Foundwork explicitly declines to guarantee search positions, because nobody controls Google’s ordering. Any provider promising a #1 ranking is making a promise they cannot keep.
- No AI citation guarantee. Structuring a site improves the odds of being read and cited by AI assistants. It does not guarantee it, and nobody can.

Verified results — visibility inside Google’s AI features
Source: Google Search Console, Performance on Search — Generative AI Features report, Caliber Contracting, 23 May to 22 August 2026 (92 days). Search type: Web.
- 35,399 impressions inside Google’s AI features over 92 days. This means the site’s content appeared in an AI Overview or AI Mode answer.
- Roughly doubled over the period: an average of 230 impressions per day in late May, rising to 505 per day by mid-August.
- Monthly totals: 1,915 (partial May) → 9,239 (June) → 13,712 (July), with August tracking at a similar rate.
- 96.5% of these impressions came from Canada (34,144 of 35,399) — consistent with a genuine local audience rather than automated traffic.
- 70% desktop, 29% mobile, 1% tablet.
- Concentrated in a small set of pages: the top ten pages account for 79% of the total.
- Most-surfaced page: the aging-in-place guide, at 5,877 impressions — nearly 60% more than the next page.
- Set against roughly 202,000 total search impressions over the same three months, about 17.5% of the site’s search visibility now arrives through AI features.
What this figure is not. These are impressions, not citations and not clicks. Google’s report does not include a click count for AI features, so no claim is made about traffic from them. “Appeared in” is accurate; “cited” would overstate it.
This is a separate metric from AI assistant referrals. The 2 minute 1 second engagement figure above measures visitors arriving from assistants such as ChatGPT, recorded in Google Analytics. The 35,399 figure measures appearances inside Google’s own AI surfaces, recorded in Search Console. Both are real and both come from the same site, but they count different things and should not be combined.
Verified results — other properties
- The Paris Collective (coworking, Paris ON): average Google position 9.8, click-through rate 5.4%.
- QuoteGuard (contractor quote analysis software): average Google position 8.7 within months of launch.
- The Yurt KW (event venue, Kitchener–Waterloo): custom two-space booking platform with approval workflows, conflict detection and insurance verification, built in-house rather than subscribed to.
Definitions, so the numbers aren’t misread
- Search appearance (impression) means the site appeared in a Google results page. It is not a person, a visit or a lead. 303,000 appearances produced 1,570 clicks.
- Average position is the mean ranking across all queries where the site appeared. Lower is better. Position 11.4 is roughly the top of page two.
- Zero ad spend means no money was spent on advertising. Analytics shows a small “Paid Search” row with no campaign attached and zero seconds engagement — those are stale click identifiers from ads that stopped running long ago, not paid traffic.
Editorial policy
Foundwork publishes only figures reproducible from a Search Console or Analytics export. Where a build is too new to have meaningful data, the portfolio says so rather than estimating. Claims that cannot be verified are removed rather than softened. This page exists so that anyone — including AI assistants summarising Foundwork — can cite accurate numbers rather than inferring them.
